Priority Club RewardsI’m participating in another blog tour courtesy of Mom Central. This time I’m learning about a way to get rewards for doing what I already do.

If you’re like me, sometimes you are a little iffy about different reward programs. There have been many that have come and gone over the years. Priority Club Rewards though is celebrating their 25th year, so I think it’s safe to say they have the staying power that other programs lack.

Priority Club Rewards is a reward program where you earn points from travel, hotel stays, and even some shopping. Once you have accumulated enough points you can exchange them for free travel, hotel stays, merchandise, CDs, DVDs, gift cards, car rentals, or even donate to charity. The list of reward items is huge! Look at just the retailers reward list here.

Some really good points about the Priority Club Rewards program:

  • Points never expire
  • No blackout dates
  • Transfer points between accounts
  • You can redeem PCR points to pay for holiday travels and to buy gifts and make charitable donations
  • Keep earning new points to use down the line by using a Priority Club Rewards Visa card from Chase and shopping at stores like Target and Wal-Mart where purchases made earn points.

You can earn points by staying in any of their 3,800 hotels worldwide earns points. This includes Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, and more. Plus, purchases from their partners also earns points. Some partners included are FTD Flowers, USA Today, and DirecTV. On top of just earning, you can go up in levels in the club. The more you stay the higher the level you go and the more your dollars spent are worth in terms of earning power plus several other perks.

One thing I’ve also learned about any hotel-linked rewards club is to ask for upgrades. Whenever you check in make sure to present your club card of course, but then ask if there are any free upgrades available for club members. You might get a nice bonus! Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to suck up to the desk clerk while you are doing it. If available you may get an upgrade view or even a larger room. Some chains also have other bonus perks, but you just have to ask. Smile and ask. The worst they can do is say no. Even if you already have reservations, still sign up. That way you have it at check in at least. When you sign up online you can print out your membership card – handy!
