Yesterday I tried another creation for Rice Krispies Treats. These were definitely not as good as they Tropical Rice Krispies Treats. It’s not that these were bad, but the flavors just didn’t meld together well at all. We decided the spicy flavors really didn’t work as I used them, but we did like the nut part so I’m going to have to work on a salty/nutty recipe next.
I’m going to go ahead and include the recipe here for you all – but again – they were not something I would make again. It is a good reference though so I’m sharing. Plus I want everyone to see that not every recipe I try or come up with turns out good – I have plenty of flops too! This makes a half batch.
Spicy Wasabi Rice Krispies Treats

3 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup crushed wasabi almonds
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp butter
30 large marshmallows
Spray your pan with cooking spray (I used a 9×13 because I don’t have a smaller one, but you will only need half that size or half sprayed). Set aside.
In a large bowl combine Rice Krispies, crushed wasabi almonds, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, and salt.
Melt butter over low heat, then stir in marshmallows. Keep stirring until marshmallows are completely melted. Quickly pour this into the Rice Krispies mixture and stir to quickly coat. Pour into pan and use a piece of waxed paper coated with cooking spray to press firmly and evenly. Cool and enjoy?
