This is my final recipe for Rice Krispies Treats (at least for right now). Tonight’s batch is called “Nutty Rice Krispies Treats”. Why? Because they have nuts, chopped pecans to be exact. I think I like these more than the After Dinner Rice Krispies Treats even because these are less sweet. Don’t get me wrong I like sweet stuff, but sometimes you need a little salty to make it all just sing!

Nutty Rice Krispies Treats by Robyn Wright

3 cups Rice Krispies cereal
1 cup chopped pecans
1/2 tsp sea salt
3 Tbsp butter
30 large marshmallows
cooking spray

Like my other recipes the past week or so, this is a “half batch” so it will fill half of a 13×9 baking pan. Mix together the cereal, pecans, and salt in a large bowl and set aside. Melt butter in pan over low heat. Once melted, add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted. While that is melting spray your pan with cooking spray to get it ready. It is also helpful to spray a piece of waxed paper with the cooking spray to use to push the mixture into the pan and press down on it with no sticky mess. Once the butter and marshmallows are melted, quickly pour into the cereal mixture and stir quickly. Then quickly (yes – work fast) transfer to your baking dish and press down into an even layer. Cool. Cut into squares (or whatever shape you want) and enjoy!
