We are trying to eat healthier at our house and lunch time is sometimes hard for Taylor and I. We have been trying hard to not get fast food for lunch, but we want some easy alternatives. This week we tried Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips and it is super convenient and tastes good too.
There are lots of frozen chicken items out there, these are precooked though and not breaded. It is easy to just open the resealable bag and take out exactly the amount you want and put the rest back in the freezer for another time. I’ve bought the precooked refrigerated grilled chicken before, but with this being frozen you have a much longer window of time to use these and keep them on hand for when you need a quick meal.
Today Taylor and I made Chicken Caesar Salad Wraps for lunch with the chicken. It is super easy – less time than it took to go through a drive thru – and it was a much healthier option for the both of us.

Light Caesar Salad Kit
Whole Wheat Tortillas
Place the frozen chicken on a plate and microwave for 3 minutes. Toss the salad with the light Caesar dressing and use a vegetable peeler to shave some this slivers of Parmesan cheese into the salad. Place the tossed salad on a tortilla, then top with chicken. Roll and enjoy! See, I told you that was easy!
The day before we tried another dish (but I don’t have pics of that). We just recently bought an Xpress Redi-Set-Go Cooker to help with the lunch situation also. So I tried to make a quesadilla with the Tyson Grilled Chicken also.
Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strip Quesadilla

Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breast Strips
2 whole wheat tortillas
1/4 cup shredded Mexican blend cheese
1/4 chunky salsa
1 Tbsp Daisy sour cream
Preheat the Xpress cooker, then add the frozen Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken Breasts Strips and cook for 3 minutes. Remove the chicken, cool, and cut into bite sized pieces. Place one tortilla in the cooker, then sprinkle cheese. Now sprinkle with chicken, and then add the salsa. Cover with the other tortilla, close lid and cook for about 4 minutes. Serve with sour cream.
As you can see, the Tyson Grilled & Ready Chicken is super easy to use and very versatile. It also comes in whole breast pieces. I think the whole breasts would be great to have for lunch with grilled pineapple salsa (we always have leftover salsa), either just on top of the chicken or to make as a salad. Taylor said he would enjoy it just as plain chicken with some BBQ sauce or ketchup even along with some fruits and veggies for lunch. We both tasted the chicken on its own, just plain, and thought it did have a decent grilled flavor and a good consistency. I think this is a product that I will continue to keep in the freezer for fast and easy meals.
