Hubby prefers to shave in the shower. One problem, every shower mirror he has tried has not really worked well, or it just has a coating on it that wears off or is taken off when you clean the shower. This means he has shaved at the sink (and left all the little whiskers all over) most of the time. That is why I jumped at the chance to review the ToiletTree Fogless Shower Mirror.

Hubby using the ToiletTree Fogless Shower MirrorThis is what is really different about this mirror – rather than having a chemical or special coating on it, this just uses water to keep it fog-free.  Behind the mirror is a little reservoir that you just fill up with the water – you just take it off the mount, fill it with your warm shower water – and place it back on the mount. The water neutralizes the mirror and air temperature which just eliminates the fogging. How simple is that?  When you are done, just empty the reservoir out. My only concern with that little reservoir is cleaning it out from hard water, soap scum (shampoo bubbles fly sometimes LOL). I’ll have to get a little brush to use for that I guess. The mirror itself is in a frame that will pivot which is great if you have folks of different heights using it. It also has this handy shelf just below the mirror that you can set your razor on. On the edge of the shelf there is a little squeegee that slides on and off simply to clean the water drops off the mirror. The mirror is acrylic so it won’t shatter and the piece is rust proof as well. Silicone adhesive is included to mount, you will need to apply it and let it sit for a day before you put the mirror on it. In the shower we put this in, it is just one of those plasticy (I don’t know what the material is, but that is what it feels like) surround shower walls. We can’t use suction cups on it, so I was happy this had the adhesive and that it stuck to our shower wall. This kind of adhesive is pretty easy to remove if you want to take it down later.

I really am impressed with the thought that went into this product. I’m guessing it may have been designed by someone like my Hubby that has been frustrated by other mirrors over the years and wanted something that actually worked.
