Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick, MissouriThis weekend is the annual Apple Butter Festival in Kimmswick, Missouri. This is south of St. Louis in Jefferson County and an easy short drive. Kimmswick is a small historic town on the banks of the Mississippi River. During the annual festival there is, of course, fresh apple butter which is so good you will want to put it on everything you eat – buy plenty! Members of the Kimmswick Historical Society actual demonstrate making the apple butter for visitors. In addition there are hundreds of vendor booths with crafts and foods and live entertainment. While you are down that way you should consider visiting Mastodon State Park as well – the kids will love it!
