So recently I got a new camera, a big girl camera, a Canon EOS Rebel T3. This is an entry level big girl camera, but still a nice camera. I love having my smart phone for pics all the time, but I needed to upgrade for certain photographs and I finally took the plunge.

Yesterday Hubby and I went to the St. Louis Zoo and I took my Canon with me. This was the first time I had taken it outside the house and really tried taking pics with it. It was kind of scary! Most of the time I had it on the automatic settings, but I did try a few other things. Some worked, some didn’t. But I am a total newbie when it comes to using a camera like this. I had a photography class in high school but only remember enough to recognize some of the vernacular. I have watched a few intro videos on YouTube and I picked up a book, Canon EOS Rebel T1 for Dummies, so that should help me quite a bit.

Here are a few of the photos from yesterday – they have not been edited except to resize them better for my blog. If you want to see the larger size images and all the rest of them you can view them on my Flickr account.

Any feedback from you photography buffs is greatly welcomed!
