back to school memories from the 70s and 80s #ThrowbackThursday

It has been a few weeks since I have done a Throwback Thursday, but today it returns with some of my back to school memories from the late 70s and early 80s.

  1. Trapper Keeper
These were those big, and apparently expensive at the time, binders that were supposed to keep all of us so organized back in the day. The problem was that usually they did not fit in the desk with all of our other books and supplies.
  2. Metal Lunchbox and Thermos
A must back then if you were bringing your lunch from home. I think I had a Bionic Woman lunchbox and Hubby said he has the Six Million Dollar Man lunchbox.
  3. Trax Tennis Shoes
These were the “it” shoe for a few years, at least in my school. Everyone had the blue just like these too and I think they all came from Kmart. This was elementary school.
  4. The 4-Color Pen
Remember this? It had blue, green, red, and black all in one pen. I’m sure we drove all of the teachers crazy clicking the different colors.
  5. 64 Box of Crayola Crayons
Yes, we all wanted the big box of crayons and the box had to have the sharpener built in the back! It is amazing what we could do with just 64 colors.
  6. Underoos
I believe the song went “Underoos are fun to wear, yeah something super new in underwear!” They made us all super heroes under our regular clothes. Wonder Woman was very popular with the girls and Superman and Batman I think were popular with the boys.

Do you remember any of these back to school items from when you were a little kid? What other things were a must-have when you went back to school?
