4 things you may not know how to do on instagram | RobynsOnlineWorld.com
Ok folks, we are sticking with the theme again since you all have enjoyed this weeks 4 Things You May Not Know How to Do on Facebook and 4 Things You Might Not Know How to Do on Twitter. Today I am sharing some Instagram tips with you.

Instagram is a photo social network and the app is available for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone users. It is a fun way to share out pics of what is happening in your life and see what others are seeing around the world.

  1. Tag Others In Your Photos
While you can add usernames in your caption/comments on your photo as a way of tagging, there actually is a better way. If you have not yet shared the photo, you can add tags from the share screen. Tap on someone in the photo and then starting entering their username and you will see a list appear. Tap the person you want. Continue with sharing. If you have already uploaded a photo to Instagram and you want to go bag and tag people later just go to your photos within Instagram, find the photo you want. Now hit the ellipse (the three dots) at the bottom right corner and select TAG. You will tap on the person, enter their username, select from the list, etc. for each person. Tap the blue checkmark at the upper right when you are done tagging people.

  2. Tilt Shift
You can change the focus on a photo you take using TILT SHIFT. Once you take the photo, on the editing bar select the wrench (right side) and then scroll until you find the teardrop shape that says TILT SHIFT and tap that. This brings up your photo on the screen with 3 options, OFF, RADIAL, LINEAR. The first photo of Hubby it is set to OFF and it is how the photo looked when I took it. The second photo I used RADIAL and I dragged it down to the Bose speaker on the bottom right. You can see the rest of the pic is out of focus now. For the third photo I used LINEAR and made the line across Hubby’s eyes at an angle – yes you can tilt the line as well as make it thinner or thicker. Click the checkmark at the bottom when you are done with the changes.

  3. Embed Your Instagram Photos
If you want to add your Instagram photos to your blog, a website, or a document just use the Embed tool. Go to the website, Instagram.com, and click on the photo you want. Now click on the ellipse (3 dots) at the bottom right and then click the word Embed when it pops up. Another little window will appear with the code. Just copy that and paste it wherever you want your image embedded.

  4. Websta Is Fabulous Tool for Instagram Users
While I love Instagram’s simplicity in many ways, sometimes I need to do more on it and need a faster way. This is where Websta comes in (it used to be called Webstagram). It is a free service, although ad based, that lets you see your Instagram feed, your own Instagram posts, and search Instagram easily. To leave comments or replies on Instagram’s it is quicker on Websta because you do not have to click to open up each item and you can use your full keyboard instead of an app on your phone. Another great feature are the sharing buttons, including Pinterest. This lets you pin your Instagram posts to Pinterest! Not something everyone will want/need to do, but for those of us who do marketing/PR it is a great tool. Websta offers several other tools that you might find helpful also.
