The weather has turned chilly here in St. Louis for autumn and it makes me very happy. One of the things I hear this time of year is about certain coffee drinks with pumpkin flavor, well I’m not really a coffee drinker, I’m more of a cocktail drinker. So here is my nod to the autumnal concoctions.
Smashed Pumpkin Pie Cocktail
- 2 ounces pumpkin pie filling
- 1/2 ounce heavy cream
- 1 ounce Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey
- 1/4 ounce Amaretto liqueur
- 1/4 ounce cinnamon schnapps
- crushed graham cracker crumbs
- cinnamon stick
Puree the pumpkin pie filling and heavy cream. In a cocktail shaker with ice add the pureed mixture along with whiskey, liqueur and schnapps. Shake well. Rim the glass with crushed graham cracker crumbs. Strain mixture into glass. Garnish with cinnamon stick.
Now doesn’t that sound better than a pumpkin coffee drink?
