The seasonal flu season is nearly upon us again and it is so important for us to get our annual flu immunization. You have to make time in your schedule to do this. Luckily Walgreens make it very convenient to get your flu vaccine to keep yourself feeling well and to help you feel good for helping give a child a shot at life!

The first part is for you to take care of yourself by getting your seasonal flu shot. The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) recommend that everyone 6 months of age and older get a yearly flu vaccine. You should get your vaccine as soon as you can, ideally by October, to ensure you are protected before flu season begins. If you are the mom or caretaker in your home you know that if you get sick the whole family is out of whack. Getting your flu shot helps you stay healthy so you can be there for your family. Walgreens makes getting your flu shot easy – just stop in because no appointment is needed at many locations. You can also make an appointment at your most convenient Walgreens location to get your immunization.

But wait…there’s more!Take part in the Get a Shot, Give a Shot program at Walgreens #GiveAShot #CollectiveBias #shop

From now through October 13th, for every flue shot or other immunization you receive at Walgreens, you will be helping to provide a life-saving vaccine to a child in a developing country through the United Nation Foundation’s Shot@Life Campaign. Not only will you keep yourself well, but you will be making an impact on another life. Even though immunizations have helped so much to control public health, 1 in 5 kids around the world lack access to them. The Shot@Life campaign has made significant progress in reducing cases of polio (yes, people still get this) and measles. My uncle had polio as a child and now, in his 60s, he still has physical issues because of it – no child should suffer like he has when there is an immunization available to prevent it!

Look at this little baby’s face. Don’t you want to give her a shot at life?

And what about this little boy? Giving him a shot at life will keep him smiling!

Now it is your turn to take action!

  1. Go to Walgreens and get your seasonal flu immunization to help keep yourself healthy!
  2. Give a child a shot at life just by completing step 1.

Do you plan on getting your shot soon? I am going next week to get mine!
