This week’s infographic is all about popcorn since October in National Popcorn Month. I have always been a fan of popcorn. When I was young my dad always made popcorn in a skillet on the stove – a black pan with a green lid. Over the top he added some melted butter. When I saw Dad making lots of popcorn and putting the finished into a brown paper bag I knew we were going to the drive-in movie that night!

While the invention of prepackaged microwave popcorn was convenient, I think it gave popcorn a bad image. There is no need to spend the money on those packages even. I finally tried out making my own microwave popcorn with just kernels in a brown lunch sack and it works great. Homemade microwave popcorn will save you a lot of money and is so much healthier and you can top it with any kind of flavors that you like.

Are you a popcorn fan? What is your favorite popcorn topping?
