Robyn's Microsoft Store Holiday Gift Picks

Today I am sharing with you some of my favorite ideas for holiday gifts available from the Microsoft Store. I either own these myself already or have had my hands on them to know that they are cool devices.

Before we get started make sure you are watching the 12 Days of Deals thru December 19 for really great deals each day. Another great thing is free shipping! Finally, there are special discounts for military on just about everything.

Surface Pro 3

If I had to pick from all of the different devices I own right now the Surface Pro 3 wins it. This really is the first tablet that can replace a laptop. The last few times I have traveled I have only taken my Surface Pro 3, no laptop. Amazing! The stylus on this thing is incredibly smooth if you like to take notes with a “pen and paper” feel. I am able to do blogging with this, edit photos, stream video, even host Twitter parties with it! This would be great for students, women, men, retirees, travelers, and well, just about anyone. If you, or Santa, gives someone a Surface Pro 3 I guarantee you will hear a SQUEEEEE of delight (even from guys).

Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse

This tiny little mouse surprises everyone. It is what I carry around with me in my bag all the time to use with my Surface Pro 3. People ask “what is that?” When I tell them it is my mouse they look perplexed and then I let them try it out and they are shocked at how really comfortable it is and how well it works. If you, or someone on your gift list, travels often (locally or afar) this is a fabulous gift!

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga

Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga

This is a device I do not personally own but I know several people with them and I totally drool every time I see them. The flexibility of this laptops screen and keyboard is amazing and it is just a great laptop computer to work on. When I travel for work I see rooms full of people on laptops and there are always people talking about and asking to see these Lenovo Yogas.

HP ENVY Recline All-in-One Computer

HP Envy Recline 23

I am writing this blog post on this computer right now. The HP ENVY Recline is an all-in-one desktop computer. It comes in 23″ (what I have) and a 27″ screen and they are touch screens! They are called reclines because they do just that, they recline! See the stand – it is hinged and so you can have the monitor sitting up like a regular one or lay it down flat or any angle in between. This would be a great family computer for the kids and the adults to use. I’ve had mine for almost a year now and am really happy with it.

Nokia Lumia Icon Smartphone

Nokia Lumia Icon

If you follow me on Twitter you probably have seen me mention the Nokia Lumia Icon Smartphone often. This is a workhorse phone with an amazing camera. This is the phone I use for my personal phone number. It has a built-in wireless charger which means you just lay it down on any Qi charger, no cords, no special cases. Works seamlessly with all of my other Windows devices. Plenty of great apps too!

HTC One M8 for Windows Smartphone

HTC One M8 for Windows Smartphone

Even though I love my other phone, I know that HTC makes wonderful and sturdy devices. My husband actually uses the HTC One M8 (Android) and we both have had other HTC devices in the past that we have loved. This one is on the Windows Phone operating system and I have played with it a few times and am hoping to get one to use for a longer period of time soon.

Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet

Another of my favorite tablets! This one runs the RT version of Windows 8.1 but still is a great little workhorse and entertainment tablet. The red one is particularly gorgeous as well. Great tablet for kids and adults.

Jawbone Mini Jambox Bluetooth Speaker

Bluetooth speakers are hot, hot, hot right now. As I’m working on this blog I am using my own Jawbone Mini Jambox to listen to some Blake Shelton music. I have had this speaker for quite some time now and I crank it up loud often and it still delivers phenomenal sound.  It is amazing the great sound such a small little speaker can put out. Hubby’s favorite as well.

Windows 8.1 Operating System

If you have not upgraded to Windows 8.1 operating system on your computer yet I highly recommend it. My favorite way to upgrade operating systems is to buy a new computer with it already installed, but not everyone wants to do that. You can buy just the software and upgrade your current machine instead if you prefer.

Office 365

Instead of paying several hundred dollars every few years for a new version of Office, now there is Office 365 which you pay yearly for but it includes both offline and online versions of the Office Suite. I use this every single day for both work and personal stuff. I know that Google offers their Docs service now, but you ask the majority of people who have used both and they will tell you that Microsoft Office still rules. It also comes with 1TB of free OneDrive cloud storage!

As I said in the beginning of this post – these are my own personal picks of holiday gift ideas from the Microsoft Store. No fluff happening here at all, I really do like these products and would have no qualms about gifting them to anyone!

Which of these items would you most like to have for yourself? Which would someone on your gift list like the most?
