Back to school with SanDisk Memory from Best BuyThese days students do so much of their school work in digital formats that most parents, even in grade school, are finding memory devices on the required school supply list when the kids head back to school. While I love cloud storage for many things, it is not always an option for students as schools block access to some things.

If they require a removable memory device than I highly recommend SanDisk branded products. I have personally used many SanDisk items for years and years now and they are consistently the best performing and longest lasting. There are some cheap memory devices out there but they fail often and you don’t want your kids assignments and projects compromised so it is worth it to spend just a little more for the SanDisk items.

The SanDisk items also provide more security, capacity, performance, and environmental requirements of the latest devices. Not to mention speed – yes, there is a difference on flash drives, thumb drives, memory cards, and the like on how fast they actually will transfer items from device to device. Years ago this was not as big of an issue because our file sizes were pretty small, but these days they are getting bigger and bigger because of the amount of detail we are able to get.

Best Buy has a huge selection of SanDisk items available to purchase online or in-store and many are on sale right now. Stock up for your students and yourself! Here are some of my favorite items for you to consider.

SanDisk Ultra 32GB Micro USB/USB 3.0 Flash Drive

So many of you are used to flash drives, but this one also works on micro USB as well as regular USB. This means that many smartphones users can use this to transfer and store items from their phone as well as their tablets and computers. This is only $9.99 (as of 8/13) at Best Buy, regularly $39.99. They have other sizes of this same device available as well.

SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB SDXC UHS-3 Memory Card

This memory card is perfect for digital cameras, DSLR cameras, and hi-def camcorders. If you have a student taking any sort of digital photography or movie making classes this is great, especially if the students are sharing the actual devices.

SanDisk iXpand Flash Drive for iPhone and iPad

If your student is a user of Apple products then this iXpand Flash Drive is what you want to check out. Up to 128GB of storage for photos, videos, music, and files, it can quickly free up memory space on your device and transfer easily to other devices. You can also play videos and music directly from the iXpand drive.

SanDisk Extreme PLUS 64GB microSDXC

If you have an older student that uses a smartphone they might need an added memory card for their device. Best Buy has this one on sale (as of 8/13) for $54.99, regularly $149.99 – that is a fantastic savings! This memory card will allow you to save more apps, photos, files, movies, and docs on any compatible smartphone.

Was a removable memory device on your kids’ school supply list this year? What kind did they have to get? Do you use removable storage devices yourself for anything?
