Taking medication on the proper schedule is crucial so it works for us. The older I get, the more forgetful I get about things like this. Medisafe is the leading app to help us remember our medications. This works for your prescriptions you take regularly, vitamins and supplements, and it is perfect when you have medication you only take for a short time.

With all the work on my teeth lately and the oral surgery I have been on pain medications several times. I have a love hate relationship with it – I love that it helps ease the pain, but it has side effects, like giving me a foggy brain which makes me forgetful of when I took the last dose. Medisafe helped me keep track of those doses and when I wasn’t sure I could go and check to see if it was time for another pain pill. Overdoses of both prescription and over-the-counter meds are far too common and can be very serious – Hubby even overdosed on eye drops accidentally! This is also a great app to share with family members who like smartphone apps that have a lot of meds, help keep them safe too.

I’ve actually been using the Medisafe App myself since February of 2014. Two brothers created Medisafe after their own father took an extra dose of insulin. Read more about the story behind Medisafe on their site. You can also read about a David Julian, a Medisafe user, and his story from the LA Times and another Medisafe user, Grace Hayes, on the Medisafe blog.

Would you find Medisafe a helpful app for yourself or a loved one? What features are your favorite?
