It is just about time for the Superbowl (yes, I know it is actually Super Bowl, but most of us forget that)! That means we are all looking for some Superbowl snack ideas to serve at our own game day parties or to take with us to another location. So I have gathered some of my favorite recipes from blogging friends of mine, plus a few of my own recipes, for you to browse through. There are some healthier options, including gluten free, and some not so healthy, but still delicious, appetizer ideas. Honestly, if I go to a Super Bowl game I don’t really watch much of the actual game, but I do love hanging out with friends and enjoying all the yummy food!
Superbowl Snack Ideas
Meatball Sub Cups
I love this recipe from Moms Messy Miracles that only has 4 ingredients! It’s a hearty snack that you can make ahead even I think and reheat. This takes the meatball sandwich and makes it into a less messy and quick bite!
Buffalo Wing Phyllo Bites
This is one of the most popular posts on my blog for a tasty appetizer made using frozen phyllo cups that you fill with a delicious shredded Buffalo chicken and top with blue cheese dressing!
Gluten Free Pizza Puff Appetizers
There are so many people who are eating gluten free these days that it is nice to have options for them when you host a party. These pizza puffs are gluten free, but people who are not gluten free will love them as well. Yet another appetizer you can prepare ahead of time and then reheat from Confessions of an Over-Worked Mom.
Fried Cheese Stuffed Doritos
Whoa! This recipe sounds so delicious from Thrifty Jinxy! Okay, so it may not be the healthiest, but oh my, ooey gooey cheesy goodness all covered in everyone’s favorite chip, Doritos!
This is another one of my own recipes for roasted chickpeas that you can season anyway you like actually. Make up a huge batch ahead of the big game and just set them out for everyone to munch on!
Bacon and Brown Sugar Little Smokies
If you have never had these, please let me warn you they are highly addictive! Making of a Mom shares this crowd-pleasing favorite – a little smokie wrapped in bacon and sweetened, just a bit, with brown sugar. Make double the amount you think you need!
Slow Cooker Apricot BBQ Chicken Wings
It’s not a game day without chicken wings, right? Mom Endeavors shares her twist on wings that are not a spicy version. I love using apricot preserves in this sauce.
Roasted Red Pepper Bean Dip
Bean dip is another classic game day appetizer but how about changing it up a bit by adding roasted red peppers? Raking in the Savings has a great recipe and says you can serve this with fresh veggies, pita bread or tortilla chips.
This is super easy and super customizable! Gator Mommy Reviews shares how to make little mini taco bites by putting all your favorite taco ingredients into Tostitos Scoops chips. How clever is that?
Mozzarella Stick Caprese Bites
Another fabulous football snacking idea from Thrifty Jinxy. This takes the classic flavors of a caprese salad, but puts it into appetizer form and use some fried cheese sticks. The dipping sauce is a balsamic vinegar base even!
Game Day Bingo
So this is not a food recipe, but I totally had to include this. Print out these fun bingo cards with football terms on them, from The Vintage Modern Wife, for your guests to play while watching the game.
Make sure you also check out my post about Beer Cocktails for the Super Bowl for a change up on just regular beer plus Big Game Day Cocktail Recipes that go beyond beer. Last week I also shared several football playoff drink recipes that you can opt to add alcohol or not. If you are a meatball fan, I’ve got a great collection of meatball recipes to check out.
