You scream, I scream, we all scream for ice cream! Did you know that July is National Ice Cream Month? What a cool holiday to celebrate, pun intended.

July is National Ice Cream Month | Robyns.World

I do love ice cream, although I eat a super small scoop these days plus a little topping (stay tuned for a Fireball caramel sauce recipe later this month). Hubby loves ice cream, he puts peanut butter on his. Growing up I have memories of my Grandpa H. having ice cream each evening. It was always vanilla ice cream with Hershey’s chocolate syrup and he would mix it all up so it was kind of like a very thick soft serve ice cream. I do this often as well and Hubby just shakes his head at me. In the country I also remember making homemade ice cream with my Grandpa C. where me and my brother and cousins took turns cranking the ice cream churn. So yummy! In the city I grew up in we had a place called Dairy Freeze which had amazing hard scoop ice cream as well as incredible milkshakes. Once they closed down, sadly, we would go to Baskin-Robbins more often. I would get a double-scoop waffle cone with lime sherbet and mint-chocolate chip ice cream – an odd combo, but it was delicious.

Whenever I was sick or having a really rough time in life my dad figured a milkshake would fix it. I love that about Dad. When I had an upset stomach it wasn’t actually the best choice, but I still love that he wanted to help and make me feel better.

Below is a cool (yes, pun intended again) infographic for this week all about ice cream. Lots of interesting facts.
