I love the fall season for festivals around the St. Louis area. Usually the weather is much nicer so it is nice to stroll around the event and enjoy the day. Here are some of festivals happening soon in and around St. Louis, Missouri. I’ve included links to the event sites so you can can detailed information and schedules.

  • St. Nicholas Greek Festival
    September 1-4
    St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 4967 Forest Park, St. Louis
    This is the 100th year for these well known and loved festival with the Greek food being the highlight.
  • Japanese Festival
    September 2-4
    Missouri Botanical Gardens, 4344 Shaw, St. Louis
    Japanese folk singing, dance groups, cooking demos, kimono fashion show, bonsai demos, tea ceremonies and more.
  • Applefest
    September 2-3, 9-10, 16-17, 23-24, 30
    Eckert’s, 951 Green Mountain Road, Belleville, IL
    Great event for families with kids. Includes wagon rides, festival foods, pony rides, and farm animal petting zoo.
  • LouFest
    September 9-10
    Forest Park, St. Louis
    A huge music festival along with art markets, food vendors and a special area for the kids, LouKidz.
  • Augusta Harvest Festival
    September 15-16
    Multiple locations around town, Augusta, MO
    Parade, live music, food vendors, Plein Air artists, children’s games and activities, historic presentations about German immigrants
  • MOSAICS Art Festival
    September 15-17
    Historic Main Street, St. Charles, MO
    Plenty of artist booths to explore and a juried art show, performing arts and art creation activities.
  • Great Forest Park Balloon Race
    September 15-16
    Art Hill at Forest Park, St. Louis
    Friday night is the Balloon Glow plus a firework finale. Saturday is the actual race along with lots of music and a children’s area.
  • St. Charles Oktoberfest
    September 22-24
    Frontier Park, St. Charles, MO
    Beer garden, live music, stein hoisting competition, Wiener dog derby, car show, bratwurst eating contest, kid’s zone
  • BookFest St. Louis
    September 21-23
    Central West End, St. Louis
    Celebration of the literary arts with dozens of local, regional and national authors. Presentations, panel discussions, book signings, and family friendly activities.
  • St. Louis Scottish Games and Cultural Festival
    September 29-30
    Spirit Airpark West Drive, Chesterfield, MO
    Lots of Scottish heavy athletics plus bagpipes and celtic music, highland dancing, sheepdog trials, birds of prey, food and drink, and crafts.
  • Zootoberfest
    September 30-October 1, October 7-8
    St. Louis Zoo, Forest Park, St. Louis
    Along with the regular fun of the zoo, enjoy special menus, live music, and autumnal activities.
  • Pumpkin Jamboree
    Weekends in October
    Multiple Eckert’s locations
    Pick your pumpkins, ride the wagon, pony ride, live music, petting farm, festival foods.
  • Oktoberfest Celebration at Das Bevo
    October 5-8
    Das Bevo (formerly Bevo Mill), 4749 Gravois Ave, St. Louis
    This event is in the German area of town and has lots of beer, live music, family area, yodeling contest, and costume contest.
  • Brew in the Lou and Fine Wine Too
    October 14
    The Lilypond at Francis Park, 5399 Donovan, St. Louis
    Showcase of St. Louis beer, wine, spirits, coffee and food including contests for home brew, bratwurst and chili. Live entertainment, vendors.
  • Kimmswick Apple Butter Festival
    October 28-29
    Kimmswick, MO
    This festival celebrates amazing apple butter – plenty to try and buy plus lots of other vendors selling crafts and other food items. Live entertainment.
