Sparkle and Spice Punch

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching and I have some great cocktail recipes to share with you today and over the next couple of weeks. Selecting a few cocktails to have at your holiday event keeps your overall costs down.

Whiskey Peach Pit Pie Cocktail

This week’s Thanksgiving cocktail offerings are the Sparkle and Spice and the Whiskey Peach Pit Pie Cocktail. The Sparkle and Spice needs some extra planning as you need to infuse a bottle of rum with some extra spices for a few days. The Whiskey Peach Pit Pie Cocktail is a bit simpler to make and makes uses of one of my favorite mixers, Sparkling Ice.

Sparkle and Spice Punch

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle aged rum (750ml)
  • 1/2 cinnamon stick
  • 1 clove
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 3 allspice berries
  • 1 pinch freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 bottle Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime
  • fresh blackberries, for garnish

Directions

Combine rum, cinnamon stick, clove, cardamom, star anise, vanilla bean, allspice berries, and nutmeg in an airtight jar. Split vanilla bean and scrape seeds into jar along with the bean pod. Close jar and allow infusion to sit in a dark place for at least 3 days.

Strain rum into an airtight jar with a fine-mesh strainer, discarding spices.

Over ice, pour 2 ounces of rum infusion. Top with Sparkling Ice Lemon Lime and garnish with blackberries.

Whiskey Peach Pit Pie Cocktail

Ingredients

  • 2oz Irish Whiskey
  • 1oz Sparkling Ice Peach Nectarine
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • peach slice, for garnish

Directions

Add over ice in rocks glass. Garnish with a peach slice.
