National Hand Washing Awareness Week | Robyns.World

National Hand Washing Awareness Week is this week. This may sound a bit trivial but washing your hands is so important to your health and the health of others. With this also being the holiday season, none of us want to be sick. Even if you already think you wash your hands enough or thoroughly, please take a moment to look at this week’s infographic to refresh your memory on the best way to wash your hands each and every time.

TIP: Studies have shown that reminders about washing hands often, and properly, actually do have an impact. Print out the how-to sign or even just write a Post-It note to place in your home or office to remind people to wash their hands.

And while hand sanitizers can be useful, they are not a replacement for using soap and water to wash your hands. If you have both options always select washing your hands with soap and water. I’ve included a second infographic today that talks about when you should use hand sanitizer versus when you should wash your hands.

If you are wondering about the type of soap to use, regular soap versus antibacterial soap, there really is no benefit in antibacterial soap. Washing your hands properly with any soap is what you should do.
