I am proud to be born and raised in Missouri and today is National Missouri Day which celebrates my great state of Missouri as the 24th state to join the union.

I live in the St. Louis area, on the eastern edge of Missouri. Father Jacques Marquette and Louis Joliet were the first Europeans to set food in the land that would become Missouri during their voyage down the Mississippi River in 1673. The city of St. Louis was founded by Pierre Laclede Liguest on February 15, 1764.

More specifically I have lived in the suburb of St. Charles, Missouri for over 20 years. St. Charles was a hunting and trapping community established by Louis Blanchette in 1769. In 1804 Lewis and Clark began their expedition west starting here in St. Charles. My city was also the first Missouri state capitol.

We have a really amazing state and tons of things to do if you would like to come and visit Missouri sometime soon.
