Wink – Game Review for Family Game Night

Wink – Game Review for Family Game Night

My family and I tried a new game on Father’s Day, Wink (disclosure: I received a free sample to review). I really enjoyed this game, it was something very different than what we usually play. Everyone picks a pawn color and gets a set of cards for their hand. All the cards have numbers on them. Other cards are set out in a grid, face up, on the table which also have numbers on them. Each player picks a card on the table to place their pawn on – they cannot have that number in their own hand of cards. … Continue Reading →
Tenzi Dice Game – Fun For the Whole Family

Tenzi Dice Game – Fun For the Whole Family

A few weeks ago I stumbled across a new game, Tenzi. We played it for the first time at Christmas and really enjoyed it. That’s my mom and dad being silly in the picture above while we were playing (I love this picture). This is a great game for the entire family. The original Tenzi is that every player gets 10 dice each. You say go and everyone rolls their own dice at the same time and keep rolling until one person gets all 10 of their dice to the same number and yells, “Tenzi!” Super simple! There is also … Continue Reading →

Another fun holiday pick today, this one Hubby really loves too! It is the Perplexus Epic which is a puzzle toy for ages 8+ (disclosure: I received this free at a toy event but opinions are my own and Hubby’s). Anyone who loves a good puzzle type challenge will like the Perplexus Epic. Hubby even did a quick video review on this toy for you all.   Hubby does a quick review of the Perplexus Epic   Hubby literally did not put the Perplexus down for a few hours once he picked it up. This would be a great gender … Continue Reading →
Would You Rather Board Game REVIEW

Would You Rather Board Game REVIEW

Last night was our monthly family game night. We celebrated my cousin and my son’s birthdays, had birthday cake, and of course, played board games. This time we tried another new game called “Would You Rather” and we all enjoyed it! The idea is that on your turn you spin and land on a category. A card is read with two options – would you rather do A or would you rather do B. They have lots of silly, funny, interesting, and some kind of gross scenarios. Everyone votes secretly what the player will select. If no one matches the … Continue Reading →
Four Fun New Board Games

Four Fun New Board Games

Time To Play Magazine was one of the sponsors at the Type-A blog conference I just got back from. On Saturday night they had hosted a Game Night party for us which made me very happy because you all know I love playing board games! I thought I would share the fun new games we played that night. Boom Boom Balloon This is so fun for any age I think. There is an inflated balloon inserted into this “cage” of sorts. On the outside of the cage are these spindles sticking out. You roll the dice on your turn to … Continue Reading →
The History of Board Games [infographic]

The History of Board Games [infographic]

Tonight we are having family game night so I thought a Saturday infographic about board games would be fun today. We get together once a month for game night and to celebrate birthdays for that month. For September we are hosting game night at our house but no birthdays to celebrate. Before we start playing games we will have dinner. I’m making a taco bar so everyone can make their tacos just the way they like. I really do love board games. Trivial Pursuit may be my favorite if I had to pick one, luckily I do not have to … Continue Reading →

Save Your Favorite Monopoly Token and Win a Game

Save Your Favorite Monopoly Token and Win a Game

The end of an era is coming! Monopoly is retiring one of the classics tokens in the game of Monopoly and replacing it with a new one. Personally, if I were an iron or thimble I would be worried about now. Those always seemed to be the least popular with my friends and family.                       The token being removed will be replaced with one of these new tokens. I am very partial to the cat although the robot is pretty cute too.             VOTE NOW! Head on over to … Continue Reading →
Uno Roboto Rules

Uno Roboto Rules

I posted a review of Uno Roboto game last December. We really enjoy the game, but one thing I mentioned was that there was not a place to keep the rules. Apparently this is an issue for a lot of people because I get a lot of people looking to find the actual rules. So here they are – just a scan of them. Click on each for a larger image if you need it. I hope this helps those who have lost the Uno Roboto rules sheet.   These rules are from Mattel, makers of Uno Roboto. I am … Continue Reading →
Crappy Birthday Board Game Review and Giveaway

Crappy Birthday Board Game Review and Giveaway

Yesterday my family got together and celebrated my aunt’s birthday and had family game night. We had a nice visit over dinner, then she opened her gifts and then singing Happy Birthday and cake. My cousin made a fabulous gooey butter cake and a spice cake – yes two cakes – my family always has more than one choice in desserts. Then it was time to play games. When I was in New York a few weeks ago I received the game Crappy Birthday so my family was happy to see what this oddly named game was all about. The … Continue Reading →
