America’s Test Kitchen Complete Cookbook Giveaway

America’s Test Kitchen Complete Cookbook Giveaway

America’s Test Kitchen is one of my favorite cooking shows and I recently purchased the America’s Test Kitchen TV Cookbook. I love this cookbook so much that I am going to give one away to one of you! While I love looking up recipes online, there are some cookbooks that just truly are worth having in traditional book form and this is one of them. In my own copy I have already started making notes about the recipes I have tried – what I left out, what I substituted, and what I did or did not like about the recipe. … Continue Reading →
GoOrganic Candy Review and Giveaway

GoOrganic Candy Review and Giveaway

Hard candy is something I grew up with, Grandma Hoelker always had butterscotch candies with her and my Grandpa Coomes always had a jar of assorted hard candies. I don’t have a huge sweet tooth, but every once in a while a little piece of candy hits the spot. When GoOrganic told me about their organic candy and asked if my family and I would like to try it out I said yes, thanks so much to them for the free samples! Taste is really what’s important for candy and GoOrganic did not disappoint. Everyone in the house has been … Continue Reading →

Pancakes and Sausage on a Stick – Perfect On the Go Breakfast for Back to School AND GIVEAWAY

School is starting back already, or very soon, for kids around here. Even though my son is out of school now I remember those crazy mornings, especially the first few weeks of back to school season. T was not a morning person in the slightest. Breakfast is so important for the kids though to get them recharged for the day. I was perpetually on the lookout for meals we could take in the car with us or that he could eat while walking on the way to school back in those days. Jimmy Dean has one super solution, Pancakes and … Continue Reading →
Making Homemade Deer Sausage

Making Homemade Deer Sausage

Homemade deer sausage is a must have item for the guys in our family. Hubby is a hunter, so are many of the other men in my family. They process their own deer when they get them which allows them to save money, get exactly the cuts they want and I think they enjoy the whole process. Out of the group that hunts, Hubby is in charge of making homemade deer jerky and homemade deer sausage. He recently made the first batch of deer sausage for the season using the kit that Hi Mountain sent us to try out. … Continue Reading →
The Better Chip Review

The Better Chip Review

The folks at The Better Chip sent me some samples to try out recently. Good stuff. Hubby and I both enjoyed tasting the different varieties. What makes these unique is that it is not a flavoring they add to the outside of all the same chip – instead the ingredients are actually in the chip! Fresh Corn – This was one of my favorites. It actually has fresh whole corn mixed in with the corn masa flour. It gives this chip an every so slight sweetness, just like fresh corn on the cob has. Beets – While these are good, … Continue Reading →

Nonni’s Biscotti Bites Review & Giveaway

Nonni’s Biscotti Bites Review & Giveaway

Are you dunker? I am not, but Hubby is and so was my Grandpa H. He loved to dunk things in his coffee. I am sure Grandpa would have loved Nonni’s Biscotti Bites as much as Hubby and I enjoyed the samples Nonni’s sent to me. They are so yummy, dunked or un-dunked! Since I am not a dunker what I really loved about the new Nonni’s Biscotti Bites are that they are not rock hard. Some biscotti I’ve had in the past you could break a tooth on, but not these at all. They are still crunchy, they have … Continue Reading →
Warm Cauliflower and Bacon Salad with Almond & Garlic Romesco Sauce

Warm Cauliflower and Bacon Salad with Almond & Garlic Romesco Sauce

Tonight with dinner I tried out a recipe for Warm Cauliflower and Bacon Salad sent to me from the folks at Victoria Amory. They had sent an email and I requested a sample (disclosure – they sent me a sample) of the sauce because the recipe sounded so good to me. I was right – it really is a good salad and something different. We had air-fried fish tonight and this was perfect with it. Plus the Almond & Garlic Romesco Sauce was really good as a dipping sauce for the fish. The Victoria Amory Romesco Sauce was packed full … Continue Reading →
